Mentorship
IGDF adopts a multidimensional approach of using physical/in-person and digital/virtual platforms to deliver the mentorship program.
The mentoring program consists of two levels:
- General Mentoring
IGDF general mentors are the mentee’s main guides with regards to their academic, social and religious life. Mentorship commences from the day the mentee enrolls in the program until mentoring is no longer required, and/or mentee becomes qualified to be a mentor. The major requirement for this level of mentorship is that the mentor is a Muslim old girl. - Career/Professional Mentoring
IGDF’s career/professional mentors are the main anchor in partnership with the general mentors to ensure the mentee succeeds in their chosen career or profession. The major requirement for this mentor is for her to be practicing the chosen career/profession of the mentee. The general mentors are responsible for identifying the need for a career/professional mentor based on temperament and other relevant considerations on a case-by-case basis.
